Welcome to the Workshop on Calibration of Viscosity Models for Turbulent Flows 2010
Göttingen, October 8-9, 2010
Organized by
Prof. Dr. Gert Lube (Georg-August-Universität Göttingen)
The workshop will be held at:
Georg-August University Göttingen
Institute for Numerical and Applied Mathematics
NAM-Seminarraum
Lotzestraße 16-18
D-37083 Göttingen
Aims and Scops
Further progress in the foundation of numerical methods for turbulent flows depends on a proper parametrization and calibration of appropriate viscosity models for such flows. Among other approaches, variational multiscale methods have emerged in recent years as a useful alternative to the classical Large-Eddy simulation. Careful experiments and numerical simulations combined with mathematical justification will improve synergy. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers from the fields of Applied Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering Sciences in order to discuss new results and to open new joint research projects.
Special focus will be on
