About me

I am Group leader of the Statistical Inverse Problems in Biophysics Group at the Max Planck Institute for biophysical Chemistry. I am also member of the Felix-Bernstein-Institute for Mathematical Statistics in the Biosciences and associated member of the SFB 755: Nanoscale Photonic Imaging.

I am working at the interface between Statistics and Inverse Problems, more specially I am interested in

  • (Nonlinear) Statistical Inverse Problems and Regularization Theory,
  • Minimax and Simultaneous Testing in Inverse Problems and
  • applications in biophysics (e.g. flourescence microscopy), especially with non-Gaussian noise.

I am married and father of two sons (* 2012 and * 2015).
Me holding a Rhombicosidodecahedron.
